Jan Shikshan Sansthan

Being inspired by the philosophy of rural reconstruction work of Rabindranath Tagore,Ananda Niketan was established by some local benevolent people headed by Sri Amal Kumar Ganguly in the year 1960-1961 in Nabasan Bagan area of Howrah district.Sri Amal Kumar Ganguly an inhabitant of Bainan village was trmendously committed to serve the rural poor and devoted his whole life for the uplift of the masses of Howrah District.He emphasized on the health and educational development of the weaker section of the community.

For the untiring services of Sri Amal Kumar Ganguly and his team the Institution has crowned with the status of State Level NGO and rendering invaluable services for the development of the vulnerable group of the district.

At present Jan Shiksha Sansthan is one of the important Institutions of Ananda Niketan.Being sponsored by Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India,Jan Shikshan Sanstha started in the year 2002-03 mainly to serve the young generation by providing them with the vocational courses of different types.

Keeping in mind the improvement of quality of life of backward class of people the institution conducts vocational courses for the illiterate Neo- literate and the young people with some education.It really helps this generation to become the useful citizen of the country.Since inception it has become possible to conduct the courses at the Institution premises and at the door step of the beneficiaries in the remote parts of the villages.At present the courses and awareness generation camps are being conducted at the GP level of different blocks and at the institution level.

Management of JSS Howrah

The Board of Management (BOM) of JSS- Howrah consists of 15 members are the guiding body of the Sansthan. It also helps in policy matters and modus operandi of the programme. Besides the Board of Management, Programme Advisory Committee and the Executive Committee help and guide the Santhan to implement its programme more meaningfully & effectively.
